Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to use WhereToStart, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or reduced motion.

Our standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. This matters legally as well as morally: US ADA case law, the UK Equality Act 2010, and Ontario's AODA all apply accessibility expectations to public websites.

What we've done

• Every question and option is a native form control with a visible label, usable by keyboard and screen reader.
• Visible focus indicators, colour contrast above 4.5:1 for text, and no information conveyed by colour alone.
• Text resizes to 200% without loss of content; layouts reflow on mobile.
• Animations respect the "reduce motion" system setting.
• Body text uses Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface designed for low-vision readers.
