Terms of use
Effective date: 10 September 2026. Last reviewed: 10 September 2026.
Please read these terms. By using wheretostarthealth.com (the "Site") you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
1. Who we are and what the Site is
The Site is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("WhereToStart", "we", "us"), [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. It provides general health information and non-diagnostic navigation tools for adults in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, funded by affiliate commissions as described in our advertising disclosure.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Site. If you are in the European Economic Area, note that the Site's country-specific content is written for the US, Canada and UK only.
3. No medical advice
The Site provides information only. It does not provide medical, psychological, nutritional or pharmaceutical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and no clinician–patient relationship is formed. Our medical disclaimer forms part of these terms. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to: use the Site for any unlawful purpose; attempt to interfere with its security, availability or operation; scrape, copy, reverse-engineer or reproduce navigator logic or content for commercial purposes without written permission; misrepresent the Site's output as a medical opinion; or use automated means to access the Site except as permitted for standard search-engine indexing.
5. Intellectual property
The Site's text, navigator logic, design, code and trademarks are owned by or licensed to [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] and protected by copyright and other laws. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use and may link to any page. All other use requires our written permission.
6. Third-party services and links
The Site links to independent companies that sell tests, telehealth, therapy and supplements. We are not a party to any transaction between you and them, and we are not responsible for their products, services, content, pricing, medical care, data practices or compliance with law. Your dealings with them are governed by their terms. Some links are affiliate links, disclosed here.
7. No warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Health information changes; we don't guarantee that content is current or applies to you.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] and its owners, officers, contributors and reviewers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use the Site or any linked third-party service, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Site will not exceed one hundred US dollars (US$100) or the equivalent in local currency.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law. If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and the exclusions above apply only to the extent permitted by that Act and the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977. If you are a consumer in Canada, nothing in these terms limits rights you have under applicable provincial consumer-protection legislation.
9. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the Site. This clause does not apply to UK or Canadian consumers to the extent it would be unenforceable under local consumer law.
10. Changes and availability
We may change, suspend or discontinue the Site or any part of it at any time. We may update these terms; the effective date above will change and continued use after that date means you accept the new terms.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [e.g. the State of Delaware, USA — confirm with your lawyer; many affiliate networks contract under Delaware/New York law], without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be brought in the courts of that jurisdiction — except that if you are a consumer resident in the United Kingdom or Canada you may bring proceedings in the courts of your home country, and you benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of that country. [Optional: add an arbitration clause with a 30-day opt-out and small-claims carve-out for US users; get legal advice before doing so.]
12. General
If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These terms, together with the privacy policy, cookie policy, medical disclaimer and advertising disclosure, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Site. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of it.
